Who is Elli Cares for?
While our focus with Elli Cares is to support independent living for people with cognitive impairment while providing peace of mind for their families, Elli Cares can be used by anyone who needs extra support in managing their day-to-day or who might need to give visibility to family members or caregivers that they are managing okay.
Elli Cares can help support people with:
- Early to mid-stage dementia
- MCI (mild cognitive impairment)
- TBI (Traumatic brain injury)
- Autism
Can I use Elli Cares independently?
Yes, absolutely! You can download and use Elli Cares as a single user. Choose the 'Help support me' option when signing up. Later, if you wish to do so, you can add a family member or caregiver.
Can we add more people to the app?
We are aiming to release our Care Team functionality by the end of December 2024. This will enable multiple family members/care partners to join and connect to a loved one to provide them even greater support.

Q: What notifications can I set up?
A: Both loved ones and family members/care partners can set personalised reminders for medications, tasks, appointments and video reminders.

Safe Track
Q: How does Safe Track work?
A: Safe Track is a GPS-enabled feature that allows care partners to monitor their loved one's location in real-time, by setting up alerts if they wander outside of a designated safe zone.
Q: Can I set up multiple safe zones?
A: Yes, care partners and loved ones can both create multiple safe zones to help with navigation and wayfinding.
Q: What happens if my loved one wanders outside a safe zone?
A: Care partners will receive a notification alerting you that your loved one has left the designated safe zone, your loved one will receive a notification as well, asking if they are ok and providing support to find their way home or contact a family member if needed.
How do safe zones work?
Q: How do I create a safe zone?
A: To create a safe zone, simply draw a boundary on the map using your finger or mouse. You can adjust the size and shape of the zone as needed.
Q: Can I modify a safe zone?
A: Yes, you can modify a safe zone by dragging the boundaries or adjusting the size.
Q: Can I delete a safe zone?
A: Yes, you can delete a safe zone if it is no longer needed.
Note: for Safe Zones to work, the person needing support must allow Elli Cares to track their device location. If this isn't allowed initially, when onboarding the app, it can be done later via settings>apps>Elli Cares and then toggling 'Motion & Fitness' to the 'on' position.

Q: Can I ask Ask Elli for medical advice?
A: No, Ask Elli cannot provide medical advice. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional for any medical concerns.
Q: What kind of information can Ask Elli provide?
A: Ask Elli can provide information on topics such as dementia symptoms, caregiving tips, and local resources.

Q: How secure is Elli Cares?
A: Elli Cares is committed to protecting your privacy and security. We use advanced encryption technology to safeguard your personal information.
Q: What measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access to my account?
A: We require strong passwords with an email username to prevent any unauthorised access. Loved ones can opt out of all shared data with their care partners at any given time. We are continuously evolving our security framework to ensure everyone has a secure Elli Cares experience.
Q: What happens to my data if I delete my account?
A: If you choose to delete your Elli Cares account, all of your personal data will be deleted along with it.
